Weird title right? Well that is the only title I could come up with to accurately describe what this post will be about. Not only did I get a Paradise Fibers Yarn Swift II for Christmas last year…I also received these other crafty goodies! (I was a VERY good girl.)
Santa (my hubby) couldn’t find the crochet equivalent of this notebook. I guess they were all sold out. He didn’t want to get the knitting one so because I also sew he decided to go with the Stitch Happy. These are very neat since the front cover and backing are hard plastic. The pen clips into the side. I have started using this to draft crochet patterns or make notes when I am sewing something for the first time.
The picture doesn’t really do it justice but I took this picture Christmas night and it wasn’t even opened yet and all the hooks were out of their holders. I already have the regular set of Etimo Crochet Hooks but I also like to work with crochet thread which this set would be better for. I seriously could not believe it when I opened the package. I have already tried one hook out and I just can’t put into words how much better it is to grip compared to the regular steel hooks.
Okay so this is not related to crochet at all. I was telling my sister of how I wanted to learn to knit as well and she got me this. I guess it is a push to either do it or not. I have been talking about it but never really tried. This year I am going to give knitting a try! Now I just need to get some sticks.
This was another gift from my husband. You can never have too many hook cases! I love the colors on it but I am not impressed with the zipper. It keeps sticking and when I open it – it doesn’t lay flat. I am not bad-mouthing my gift at all. I love it – just wanted to let you know the flaws.
Now I think I have enough crochet hooks! I have always wanted to try a wooden crochet hook. I didn’t expect to get a whole set. These are amazing and fit perfectly into my new crochet hook case. They are smooth and easy to grip. The best thing about them is how light they are. I have tried using them on different types of yarns and found that they work the best on very lightweight yarns.
Yes, I am spoiled. I know. BUT you also have to know that I told Santa exactly what I wanted before hand. I practically drilled it into him so there is no way he could misunderstand or forget. I may have even written it down for him a couple of times. Either way Christmas was very good!
What crafty stuff did you get for Christmas last year?
