So the website I want to tell you about is Moira Crochets Plarn. I truly forget how I found this blog but I am so glad I did.
I first learned about plarn on My Recycled Bags.com (tons of free crochet patterns on here too!). I have saved plastic bags and even rolls of small trash bags for about 6 months. BUT when my husband redid my craft room he threw them in the recycle bin. Yes, yes he did. Was I mad? FURIOUS!!! He has saved bags on every grocery trip now to re-make the stash I had. I just have to remind him to NOT put them in the recycle bin. Oy!
Anyway, while I am re-building my stash to make my plarn I am still searching for different ways to make plarn, techniques, patterns, etc. This where Moira Crochets Plarn comes in. Check out herto find out how to make Plarn, tools you will need and even ways to spin it and soften it to make it easier to work with.
All her FREE patterns are available on Ravelry or you can go through the posts on her blog to find them too.
You have to read the post from January 27, 2012. Moira lives in the Philippines in the area that Typhoon Sendong ravaged. That post brought tears to my eyes and I truly believe that Moira was being watched over and crochet saved her and her family’s lives. The post literally gave me chills. I will be following this blog to read more of Moira’s writing and maybe for her free patterns too. I hope you enjoy her blog as much as I do.
On the lighter side…this is just one of many reasons why everyone needs to crochet!
