While reading the May 2011 issue of Woman’s Day (it takes me a while to read all the magazines we get), I came across an article called “A Mother Is…” that had some great quotes about being a mother. I thought I would share some of the ones I saw as well as some others that I like.
“It’s not easy being a mother. If it were easy, fathers would do it.” – From the TV show The Golden Girls
“The best way to keep children home is to make the home atmosphere pleasant – and let the air out of the tires.” – Dorothy Parker
“When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child.” ~Sophia Loren, Women and Beauty
“Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing is like shoveling the walk before it stops snowing.” – Phyllis Diller
“Always be nice to your children because they are the ones who will choose your rest home.” – Phyllis Diller
“My husband and I are either going to buy a dog or have a child. We can’t decide whether to ruin our carpet or ruin our lives.” – Rita Rudner
“Adorable children are considered to be the general property of the human race. Rude children belong to their mothers.” – Judith Martin
“I suffer from M.A.D.D. – Mommy Attention Deficit Disorder.” – Raenita
“Any mother could perform the jobs of several air-traffic controllers with ease.” – Lisa Alther
“By and large, mothers and housewives are the only workers who do not have regular time off. They are the great vacationless class.” – Anne Morrow Lindbergh
Hope these quotes brighten up your day a little!
