Not sure if I have mentioned that my husband and I did our fair share of traveling before our daughter was born. I am sitting on a ton of pictures that haven’t really been shared with anyone. I’d love to share them with you! Be ready for an onslaught of posts with pictures from all over the place. If you have any questions about the pictures or where we went, just let me know. Enjoy!
This was the first international vacation that my husband and I took together. We traveled to Belize in 2004. Belize is located in Central America. This vacation was a 2-part trip called the Surf and Turf package. The first half of the trip we spent in the Jungle Dome in Belmopan and the 2nd half of the trip we spend on the island of San Pedro. The start of our vacation did not go well as our connecting flight to Belize City was cancelled 3 months prior to our vacation and no one thought to let us know. We ended up getting there a day later and our luggage was lost as well. Our luggage would arrive the following day. Because this was a package vacation we had a tour or excursion planned for each day. Since we were going back to the airport the following day to get our luggage that would the best day for us to hit the Zoo since it was right there.
The Zoo wasn’t anything spectacular. It was nestled right into the forest so it almost seemed as if you weren’t in a zoo at all. They had a nice arrangement of animals some in cages…some not.

Macaws

Otters

This little guy was NOT in an enclosure. We found him just walking along the handrailing.

spider monkey - These little rascals are known to cause trouble and throw things at you from high up in the trees!
