Trying to keep it local! I went in search of some Alpaca Yarn one day and found out that there are a couple of Alpaca Ranches not that far from me, well, in the same state at least. One of them being the MezzaLuna Alpaca Ranch. I found their website on The State of Texas Alpaca Ranchers Website. You can search for Alpaca ranches near you on the Alpaca Nation website or the .
On their website you can buy Alpacas or you can check out their shop for their yarn or handmade items. At the moment, there isn’t much yarn listed. If you would like to buy some yarn from them, send them an email. That is what I did. They then emailed me pictures of all the yarn they have in stock which is definitely more than what is listed on their site. I chose what they wanted and they sent me my package. I was able to pay via PayPal too (which is my preferred way of paying for anything).
Reasons why to use Alpaca Yarn:
Alpaca fiber is hypo-allergenic. That means that people with wool sensitivities can wear it. Alpaca is a hollow core fiber so it keeps you warmer than wool when you need to be warm, but breathes when you need to be cool. Alpaca fiber can be as fine as cashmere. – from The Alpaca Yarn Company – awesome yarns here btw.
The yarn I bought is so soft and smooth. It smells very fresh and clean. I have some might big plans for this yarn…something with the crocodile stitch that’s for sure!
What yarn have you bought lately?
