I really like playing around and trying different things when I sew. While I always tend to use instructions or tutorials to help me as I go along I still like to make the project my own by changing the size or adding something a little different.
I made another Crochet Hook Roll and this time I made it a bit smaller. It measures 7″ tall by 10″ wide. I made the 8 pockets vary in size to hold different size hooks and maybe even scissors and a little notebook.
Pink ribbon is sewn on to the left edge

There is so much I want to write about but I don’t always have the time to sit down and type it out. This skirt that I am writing about I finished back in January and I am just now writing about it. I just have to show it to you though as I am very proud of it. I didn’t use a pattern for the skirt or apron.
I used some fabric that has sat in my fabric drawer for almost a year now. It might look familiar to some of my regular readers! Yes, it is the same

When my husband bought me my sewing machine 5 years ago, he pretty much gave it to me expecting me to know exactly how to use it. Like I was going to sew up some curtains in 5 minutes or something. When I was younger I used to watch my mother sew clothes that she would sell and that she would force us to wear but she never had the time to teach me how to use a sewing machine. It took me 1 month and my mother-in-law showing me some of the basics to get started

Last Christmas I ran out of gift card holders and envelopes. I told myself then that I would make some for this coming Christmas. To mix things up a bit I decided to try and sew some (before I just gave up and crocheted them).
First off let me say that I am much better at crocheting than I am at sewing. Secondly…I did not use a pattern.
My first try was not that good.
My 2nd try was much better, a little loose but much better all the same!
These are so simple

I love to crochet but sometimes I just need a little break. When this happen I usually dust off my sewing machine and do a little sewing. My favorite things to sew are items that don’t require a pattern. Cut out some squares and rectangles, sew them together and voila! Those are the types of projects I like.
As I dug through my fabric stash I found some very nice white and pink fabric that I thought would make a cute crochet hook organizer roll. I haven’t sewn anything like this before but after looking at some pictures online I
