Review & Giveaway: Chicken Soup for the Soul – The Magic of Mothers & Daughters

The Magic of Mothers & Daughters is (so far) my favorite from Chicken Soup for the Soul. I can relate since I am a daughter and now a mother. The stories that fill the pages of this book are full of personal experiences of other mothers and daughters. The stories are full of happiness and the heartache that make that special mother-daughter bond. Some of the stories had my crying while others had me laughing. A couple of the stories had me reminiscing of moments I spent with my mother and looking to the future to the wonderful times I will have with my daughter. This book is perfect for any mother or daughter to curl up on the couch with or to give as a gift.

To celebrate Mother’s Day, Chicken Soup for the Soul is giving away 2 copies of this wonderful book.

Review & Giveaway: Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff for Moms – CLOSED

As a Mom I now know what stress is. I thought I was stressed before but that is nothing compared to what I feel on a daily basis now. There is a never-ending list of things to worry about and even now I am cataloging them in my head. Mind you, none of the worries are about myself just my daughter, my husband, money, the economy, etc. As a mother I find that I tend to worry about stuff that doesn’t even concern me. You too?

Becoming a “Don’t Sweat Mom” means to stress less and choose happiness more. Easier said than done, I know. It’s about finding joy in everyday parenting.

What do you do to decrease stress and more happiness in your life?

I have to admit that most times I just tune out. I ignore everything going on around me and just close my eyes. Other

Review: Kayla Bug Bowtique

Back in April, I went to the Sokol craft fair here in Fort Worth. I managed to spend most of my birthday money buying stuff for my daughter and for my mother-in-law for Mother’s Day. When I was there I cam across Kayla Bug Bowtique. She makes these adorable bows for little girls. What makes them different from other bows is that there is a little magnet glued onto the bow. You can then interchange the bottle caps onto the bows. What a great idea!

I wanted some bottle caps with my daughter’s favorite characters so I placed an order for 2 bows and 6 different bottle caps. I was able to pick them up at the end of the week, luckily she lives close by! Check them out in the picture above. My daughter now loves to wear her bows since she can pick what character to wear.

We

This is a picture of our Scruffy. If you have been following my blog you have probably seen pictures of him before. He was our first baby together (my husband and I). We bought him from a private breeder when we lived in Las Vegas, NV when we were dating. He has moved with us via plane and car to 3 different states. He is now 10 years old which for a dog makes him a senior. He still looks and acts like a puppy though. We spoil Scruffy just like we spoil our daughter. He does not want for toys or snacks. He has 2 dog beds in the house, 1 which looks like a little doghouse. He has an automatic dog feeder that feeds him 4x a day. He eats little portions because he is on a diet. To us, Scruffy isn’t a dog…he is a part of

Review & Giveaway: Burger King New Menu #MyBlogSpark – CLOSED

Fast food is something I don’t eat all the time. When we are on a road trip or need a quick bite to eat when we are running errands it is the perfect place to stop or go through their drive-thru. Burger King is one of my favorites because I like their Spicy Chicken sandwich (with cheese, of course). Their fries are pretty good too.

But Burger King is stepping up their game with their enhanced menu which includes a variety of made-to-order Garden Fresh Salads, Snack Wraps, Real Fruit Smoothies, Frappés and Crispy Chicken Strips. Here is a list of all their new menu items:

New Garden Fresh Salads at BURGER KING® are made fresh daily with premium ingredients that can be topped with your choice of TENDERCRISP® or juicy TENDERGRILL® chicken. Varieties include:

Chicken BLT Garden Fresh Salad ~ made with a three cheese blend, thick cut

Review & Giveaway: $100 Stanley Steemer Gift Certificate #MyBlogSpark – CLOSED

Spring Cleaning is more like a year-round effort than it is seasonal. Do you hire a professional to help you with your cleaning? Once a year? Monthly? Weekly? I do all my cleaning myself with the help of my husband, of course. When it comes to the floors we try to get them professionally cleaned at least once or twice a year. The laminate floors I do myself but the carpets, tile and especially the grout I leave to the experts.

Stanley Steemer can help you clean hardwood, tile, air ducts, water damage restoration, and more! Find them on Facebook and Twitter. Thanks to MyBlogSpark and Stanley Steemer I received a $100 Gift Certificate to use towards any service by Stanley Steemer. Since I had my carpets cleaned less than 6 months ago I decided it was time to get the tile and grout in the kitchen
