Crochet Children’s Spike Stitch Socks

I found this free pattern on Lion Brand’s website, Spike Stitch Socks. I am not a fan of crocheting socks…we all know what happened when I tried to crochet adult socks, if you don’t…not gonna tell ya! But this pattern was very easy to follow and they came out really well!

I like the spike stitch as it brings out the different colors of yarn. I used a light, medium and dark brown medium weight, acrylic yarn. The medium brown looks a little reddish but I think the colors go very well together. This came out to be the perfect size for 18-24 months child. I think I am going to do a couple larger for my daughter. These would be perfect to keep her little feet warm in the winter. They are what I like to call house or boot socks. Very thick.

I have found some great free patterns on Lion Brand’s website. I think this one is a keeper for sure. What are some colors that you think would be great for this pattern? Since they are socks I am thinking of maybe some greys and blues. Let me know if you tried this pattern. Did you think it was easy? How did your socks come out?
