This week I’m doing a cross-blog conversation with Kathryn from Diary of a Smart Chick. You probably know Kathryn from Crochet Concupiscence which I have mentioned on my blog before. Kathryn is also the blogger behind Diary of a Smart Chick which is pretty much about everything minus crochet. Each day we will be asking and answering questions to each other on our blogs.
Keep Up with the Conversation

MY TURN!
Hi Kathryn,
Wow, the picture of you on her site is amazing. I took a look at the slideshow and I just have to say…beautiful! It is always great to see people coming together for projects like that. It really brings in a community feel.
I love the picture of the large tree in Argentina. Funny because I have one that is eerily similar from when we went to Hawaii. It is great that you take a lot of pictures with you in them. When we go in vacation we tend to take pictures of different things but only a few will actually have us in it. Your trip sounds like you had a great time. I especially like the River Boat Trip. Did you buy a package trip that included the day trips? The fact that you had a home-cooked meal in a little cottage just sounds very romantic. I think you get a better feel of the people and the history when you do the small things like that instead of just seeing all the tourist attractions.
Steak and wine…love it! Yarn district…yes I think I see a vacation to Argentina in my future. I will remember to pack light and bring lots of extra bags. I love Flea Markets or pretty much anywhere I can just walk around and look at different things. Did you buy any yarn while you were there? You have to tell me who you booked your trip with if it was some sort of vacation planning service! The stuff you saw and did…wow. Really that was a great trip. Did you have a tour guide?
Flying with my daughter alone I just don’t see in my future ever. At least not until she is old enough where all I have to do is feed her and replace her iPod batteries or something like that. When we have flown with her…by the time we are off the plane and checked into the hotel both my husband and I are drained just from the stress and keeping her busy and occupied. If you do get the chance to take a trip to Hawaii, let me know. I can tell you of some great day-trips to take like going 4-wheeling where they film Lost, horse-back riding on the beach or an authentic luau. It is hard to find an authentic feel in Hawaii because everything is for the tourists, that is how they make their money. Some things though can be way too touristy…like those bright-colored, plastic flower leis, yuck!
I like to walk too. In fact I would do it more often IF there was actually something to walk to. I live in the suburbs in a housing subdivision so I am surrounded by houses. It is at least 5-10 miles to the nearest strip mall and I don’t like walking that much. It sounds nice to live in a place that you can walk to everything. What is the Zipcar or City Car Share? I have never heard of that and don’t know what a car sharing program is. You don’t babble…I babble.
I do think things may have been better for use (when we gave birth) if we knew exactly what was going on. It really isn’t a simple process and things can change in the blink of an eye. That is why you need a doctor you can trust to make the right decisions for you. Trust me, when you are all drugged up you aren’t in the right state-of-mind to make decisions anyway.
I use Adsense as well on my blog and I got my first check this month. It only took 13 months for me to get enough for a payout!
I am very jealous of you. I have never been to a musical or a live theater performance. The local urban circus sounds very interesting. If you happen to have pictures of that, I would love to see them. Okay so I lied, when I lived in Vegas I saw a Cirque du Soleil show once. It just so happened that I was on a date with the son of one of the execs of the hotel so he got free tickets. I like the whole ‘chill in a park and hear music’ thing too. I did that when I was younger and living in Hawaii. There was always local talent playing at the park near Waikiki on the weekends. Good times.
I do enjoy live Comedy Shows. We have seen Bill Engvall live twice and Pablo Francisco a couple of time too. That was pre-baby too. We haven’t seen any live shows since then. My daughter is very rambunctious and full of energy. Luckily, we have a lot of playgrounds and parks close by that we go to when the weather is nice. For indoor play, we go to the indoor inflatable play areas where they have bouncehouses inside. So the kids go and jump out all their energy. We do have live shows for the kids like Disney on Ice or the Yo Gabba Gabba Live show but I don’t think she is at an age yet where she will stay still for the length of the show. Maybe in a couple more years.
I have not taken a dance, theatre or performance class.
If we have another child…I would like it to be a boy. When I was pregnant we were hoping for a boy. When we found out the sex of the baby we were a little disappointed. I am kind of embarrassed at that fact because we should have been happy either way. But we are happy now and I wouldn’t change a thing.
I have a couple of questions listed below. I really enjoyed doing this cross blog with you. It was nice getting to know you and learning new things. There are lots of things we could have done differently but I like what we did and how it turned out. I do think it was valuable for my readers because they learned a lot about me that would probably never have come up otherwise.
Summary of Questions:
- Did you buy any yarn while you were in Argentina? Do they have different types of yarn that we don’t have here in the States?
- Did you have a tour guide on your trip to Argentina?
- What is the Zipcar or City Car Share? I have never heard of that and don’t know what a car sharing program is.
- Have you ever taken a dance, theater or performance class?
Do you have any questions for Kathryn? Share them in the comments and I’ll ask!
