A couple of weeks ago I wrote a post called The New Internet Trend. In that post I shared a video I came across on Facebook. It showed people giving back to the community by giving food, clothing and other necessities to the homeless. The point of the video was to replace all the useless viral videos (twerking, etc.) with videos that showed people doing good deeds. That video motivated me to give back to my community as well. Now I didn’t make a video of myself doing this but I did take a picture to share with you.
I dropped off 2 bags of crochet hats, scarves and other crocheted accessories to the Domestic Violence Program & Sexual Assault Services office here in Murfreesboro, TN.
The Domestic Violence Program is a non-profit organization committed to ending violence and discrimination in the lives of victims suffering the pain, fear, and shame of domestic abuse.
They provide a multitude of services to the community and they also have an Emergency Shelter for those that need a place to stay. My items will be given to the people that are staying in their shelter or to anyone else that may need something to help keep them warm.
Hopefully my video has inspired others to give back to their community as well. Please share in the comments if you have done so. Thanks!
