The United Nations Foundation and Charity Miles have teamed up for the month of February to raise $10,000 for good causes. To participate in their virtual #VDay10k all you have to do is download the FREE Charity Miles app and take a walk, run or ride a bike. The app is available for download on iPhone and Android phones.
The #Vday10k challenge will run through the month of February when you’ll be able to donate your distance to a variety of United Nations Foundation campaigns. The participating campaigns include Girl Up, where your miles will help a teen girl in a developing country safely attend school, Nothing but Nets where you will help protect a family from malaria, and Shot@Life where your miles will help to provide life-saving vaccines to children around the world that need it most.
Charity Miles will donate 25 cents for every mile you walk or run, and 10 cents for every mile you bike. Each time you finish your exercise you can share how far you’ve gone and also choose the charity where you would like your donation to go.
The person who goes the farthest distance will be featured at the end of the month by the UN Foundation.
