Feature Friday: Originality By Jane Marsh

Today I would like to welcome, Jane Marsh, the hands of Originality. Jane is a self-taught artist. She creates textile accessories and pictures working mainly with silk and batik. Jane will be telling us a little more about her art and also showcasing some of her items in this post. Enjoy!

You can also find Jane on her Originality Facebook Page.

When did you start working with batik?

I first came across batik when I was at college and then there was a long break when I traveled in Europe and India and had children.  But in 2000 I took it up again and started selling from a market and my studio.

How much do your scarves and pictures cost to buy?

The scarves cost thirty pounds sterling and the pictures fifteen – two hundred  pounds sterling depending on size plus postage.

My next show will be the Action for Children Gift and Craft Fair on the 16 and 17 March at Thirsk Racecourse.

What do you like to do for fun?

For fun I love growing vegetables in my garden and I feed the wild birds.  I also like to swim and have a sauna – very relaxing.  Walking along the beach is something else I couldn’t do without.

Thank you very much to Jane Marsh for telling us more about herself and her art. If you like what you see please go visit the Originality website to view all of Jane’s available items. Have a great day!
