Today I would like to tell you about the I CARE Foundation. I CARE stands for International Child Abduction Research & Enlightenment Foundation. The Founder and Director of the I CARE Foundation is Peter Thomas Senese. Here are some snippets of what Mr. Senese has to say about International Child Abduction:
How bad are the issues at hand? It is expected that there will be 125,000 American children internationally parentally abducted from American soil over the next 10 years. Of this, only 10% of these children will ever come home. The total economic cost on the American economy will be over 5 billion dollars, of which, it is expected that 2 billion dollars of these expenses will be incurred by targeted parents of abduction.
Obviously, international parental child abduction is a serious issue for all citizens; however, it is a parenting issue, and in particular, it is an issue that parents who are involved in relatively new relationships, particularly cross-cultural relationships must be aware of.
There is a serious and dangerous epidemic that is destroying tens of thousands of families each year. Its malicious tentacles are spreading. In raising awareness, the I CARE Foundation will be in a much better position to advance two new federal legislation initiatives we are moving on, while continuing in our successful recruitment campaign to build the United States Department of State’s ‘Hague Convention Attorney Network’ – a nationwide network of pro bono lawyers willing to come to the aid of children and their parents who are targeted for international abduction.
Here is a video from a film series that has been created by child abduction prevention advocates Peter Senese and Carolyn Vlk in order to assist others at danger of having a child criminally abducted:
You can find Mr. Senese on his website: Chasing The Cyclone. A novel about international child abduction and a Father’s unending love for his son – inspired by a true story.. Mr. Senese has released a new book entitled
