Feature Friday: Ruby Lee and Me Blog

Today I am featuring the Ruby Lee and Me Blog.

I found the Ruby Lee and Me blog by way of the Crochet, Crafts and Gardening blog. See a trend? Yes I follow a ton of crochet blogs!

The owner of Ruby Lee and Me is Shannon. “I’m a 30-something stay-at-home mom and wife who has been inspired to learn and love the art of crochet by my Granny, Ruby Lee.” Her blog is simple, quick to load and there are no ads. Most if not all of her posts pertain to crochet. I spend a lot of time there and I love her free patterns. Anyone who is willing to share is a friend of mine!

Here is a little more about Shannon in her own words:

“Hi, my name is Shannon, and I am a stay-at-home mom who is married to a Naval Officer and raising a teenage daughter… in Japan! I am also the author and creator of Ruby Lee and Me.

When I was a little girl, I remember watching my granny, Ruby Lee, sit in her rocking chair and crochet. She died while I was young, so she never had the opportunity to teach me how to crochet. So, a few months before we moved to Japan, I decided to pick up some yarn, a pattern book, and a hook and give crocheting a try. I figured if Granny could do it, then maybe so could I. It worked, and I instantly fell in love!
Only a few short months passed before I knew without any doubt that I wanted to develop a blog that showcased my work. That’s when Ruby Lee and Me was created. Each time I post, I think of how happy Granny would be to see me sitting in the rocking chair and crocheting the same way she did so many years ago.”

On her blog, she has links to some other great crochet blogs and sites. So if you are into crochet, she is definitely one to check out!

She just had a giveaway on her blog and I won! I won 3 tawashi’s (little scrubbers) that she crocheted herself. They are awesome!

Here are some of her other projects:
