ICE featuring Frosty the Snowman at Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, TN

Last month when my in-laws came to visit we all went to see ICE featuring Frosty the Snowman at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, TN. This was something that I had heard of before but none of us had ever been to or seen. We purchased our tickets over the phone the day before. If you are a Marriott Rewards member you get a discount.

I was prepared for our visit and I think I scared my husband’s parents because I was running around the house making sure that I had everything we needed. It was going to be a surprise for them and our daughter. I had to find scarves, gloves and hats for everyone. Inside ICE it is 8 degrees! They give you parkas but they are not enough. Even with the gloves and scarves I brought we were still freezing our butts off. Make sure to go prepared!

Before going into the exhibit we watched a short film that told us a little history of ice sculptures and about the people who make these beautiful works of art.

It was beautiful and just something that you have to see at least once. It was cold though so I think we stayed in there for maybe a max of 20 minutes. Here are pictures of my favorite ice sculptures:

Right before the exit are the ICE SLIDES! There are 4 slides: 2 small and 2 large. My daughter had a blast going down the small slide. Kids have to go down the slide by themselves. The slides were not as smooth as I thought they would be. Wearing the parkas helped a bit.

We all had a great time. After exiting ICE we spent almost an hour in the gift shop looking around and buying gifts. We also bought my daughter a cupcake from Gigi’s Cupcakes. We were trying to warm up before venturing outside. I don’t think we will ever forget how cold it was in there!
