Thank you very much to Leisure Arts for sending me a copy of their Sew It All: Quick Projects Book to review. This book is available on their website for $17.99. It features 21 projects to make, 6 tips and techniques and a section that goes over Sewing Machine basics.

The paperback book is 64 pages. It has color pictures, diagrams and patterns that you can copy. Of the projects included 9 are wearable items, 2 are jewelry projects, 8 items are for the home and 2 are bags. All of the projects are simple and quick to make although some will take longer than others. Some of the projects do not use a sewing machine but instead use craft glue or hand sewing.

I am a bag lady so I chose to make the Craft Caddy which is pictured on the front of the book. I like how the instructions are displayed. The supplies are listed first then the cutting instructions and finally the assembly. The project I chose called for laminated cotton fabric but I decided to use duck and cotton fabric with no interfacing. I wanted a soft bag that I could fold up and pack in my suitcase or stuff in the glove compartment of my car. The instructions were easy to follow and the diagrams were very helpful when it came to attaching the pockets. There was a lot of top-stitching going on but I am getting much better at it and my stitches were straight.

From start to finish this project took me 3 hours to put together. Very simple. Very easy. It was fun to do and I love that it didn’t take me long at all. The finished Caddy turned out great.

I think this book would be great for anyone who sews even for those with not a lot of experience. Everything is very straightforward and there are sections that go over the special techniques used. There are enough projects in this book to keep you busy for a long time!

I'd love to hear what you think!
