As an Etsy Seller I try to take advantage of all the help that Etsy provides. Let me tell you…they are very helpful!
Every year right before the holidays Etsy does their Holiday Boot Camp. If you sell on Etsy and haven’t signed up yet visit their Email Sign Up so you don’t miss a lesson. When you sign up you will receive two lessons per week via email for one month, starting October 7, 2013.
Obviously based on the title of this post the first lesson has already been sent out. The first lesson is about setting your goals. Etsy provides a worksheet that you can use to figure out what your goals are. They also give you the link to download a Holiday Planning Calendar so you can set up deadlines and get your dates in order. See how helpful they are?
Here are some of the questions that you should ask yourself to determine and set your goals (and my answers):
What do you want to accomplish and why?
I would like to list more of my crochet patterns and make more sales. I want to expand the pattern area of my shop and make more sales.
What tools and knowledge will you need?
I will need my laptop, time and patience. I will also need to figure out what people are into this holiday season.
How much time will it take to achieve?
To design, put on paper and list my crochet patterns will probably take me 2-3 weeks for each design.
How will it challenge you to develop your shop?
I will be putting more time into my designs rather than physical items.
How will this goal enhance your holiday season?
I think that adding more patterns will get me more sales (equals to more revenue!).
What business lessons will you learn?
What sells and what doesn’t.
Let me know if you have signed up for this year’s Etsy Holiday Boot Camp! Are you following along and participating? What are your goals?
