Mabuhay Filipino & Hawaiian Grill – Keller, TX

I cannot tell you how happy I was that we found this restaurant! It was pure luck that we ventured out to Keller to shop at Kroger. This Kroger had the last of my husband’s favorite soda because it wasn’t being distributed in TX anymore. That is the only reason we went out that way. We found the soda there and to make our day even better I saw this restaurant in the same shopping center.

I was born and raised in Honolulu, HI. My mother is Filipino. Yes…this restaurant was practically calling my name! Finding a restaurant serving this type of food is very hard in Texas. We walked in and it is a small restaurant with some booths and tables. There is also a little bar with stools in the back. Island music is playing and green plants are everywhere. It felt like home and brought back memories of my childhood. Don’t worry I won’t get all sappy on you. I made sure to take a picture of every page of their menu. I have already posted it on Yelp and other restaurant websites but I am also going to share it with you.

If you want to check out the menu scroll down. I am going to share some pictures of what we ordered first.

We started with the Lumpia. By the time I remembered to take a picture most of it was gone.

They serve food family style. We chose 3 different entrees to share and everything comes with steamed white rice. Here is the Pansit Bihon (which my husband loved and he doesn’t really care for this type of food). We didn’t finish it all so we took the rest home for later.

We also ordered the Mahi Mahi for our daughter to eat. It was very good! The only entree that we finished.

I ordered the Chicken and Papaya as that was my favorite when I was a child. I probably should have asked about this one. My mom made it with green papaya (not ripe yet) and the only other ingredients were onions, garlic and chicken. Hers had more soup too. This one was good but it wasn’t what I was hoping for.

We finished the meal off with some Halo Halo. By far the best meal I have had in a long time. The Halo Halo is amazing!

I really wish this place was closer to where we live because I want to try everything on their Menu. I can’t say for sure if we will be going back again but I really hope that we do!
