Protect Infants from Meningococcal Meningitis

Aside from injuries and neonatal complication, meningococcal disease is among the leading causes of preventable infant death in the U.S. Approximately 50-60% of these cases are vaccine preventable.

I know that there is a lot of debate out there about the risk of vaccines for children. Here are some links so that you can learn more about Meningococcal Meningitis and the vaccine and make your decision:

Please sign the Protect Infants Now! Ask CDC to Recommend Infant Meningococcal Vaccines petition.

The CDC has always done the right thing in protecting our infants from deadly vaccine preventable diseases by recommending life saving vaccines. This time should not be any different. Watch and take action to encourage the CDC to recommend infant meningococcal vaccines as they become available.

Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central and Meningitis Angels. This campaign was made possible in part through support provided by Novartis Vaccines. A small donation to a charity of my choice was made in my name from Mom Central as a thank-you for participating. All opinions in this posting are 100% my own.
