First off, I want to thank Hoffbrau Steakhouse for giving me a $40 Gift Certificate to eat at their restaurant for this review!
My family and I have never eaten at Hoffbrau Steakhouse prior to this review. We decided to eat at the one in Haltom City as it was the closest to where we live.
Here is the address to the Hoffbrau Steakhouse in Haltom City and their hours:
Phone: 817 498 1212
Fri & Sat: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m
We got to the restaurant at 5:30 PM on a Sunday night. We were seated right away in a booth. The service at this restaurant was above par. The wait staff was always around and checking to see if we were okay. It took us a bit to figure out what we wanted to order. Since it is a steakhouse, I wasn’t surprised to see that their menu was a little limited. They had everything that a steakhouse is supposed to have though. Their menus are available online for each location.
With our meal we received a basket of bread. The rolls were warm and tasted great.
For my daughter, we ordered the Chicken Strips Kids Meal which comes with a beverage, steak fries or steamed broccoli and a Blue Bell Push Up…we went with the fries. It cost $4.50.
For the price, we got a lot of food. The steak fries look more like potato wedges though. The batter on the chicken was good but the chicken was dry. We were also given cream gravy to dip the chicken in but it didn’t have much flavor to it.
My husband ordered the Hoffbrau Shrimp Dinner which included 10 jumbo shrimp, a side salad and steak fries for $13.99.
My husband said the shrimp were okay but that they were supposed to have special Hoffbrau seasonings on them. He said it tasted like they just seasoned it with salt and pepper.
I ordered the Sal’s Special Ribeye 10 oz. for $16.59. I ordered a side salad with ranch and a side order of broccoli.
I think they were a little skimpy on the broccoli. My steak wasn’t very hot but it they cooked it medium well as I requested with just a little pink on the inside. The taste was okay but I didn’t think it had a lot of flavor to it.
I know my review seems very harsh but I didn’t mean for it to be. My husband and I are very picky when it comes to eating out. Here are some other things we noticed:
- there is no Caesar salad on the menu or option for it as a side salad. No biggie but my husband would have preferred it.
- no seasoned rice as a side item. Yes, I understand it is a steakhouse but I am just not much of a potato or veggie person.
- The kids cup was very flimsy. It looked like a plastic party cup with a plastic lid. Whenever my daughter held it the sides bent in almost causing it to explode on her.
The highlight of the restaurant for us was the service. You can have good food but if the service sucks then we won’t be going back. But if the service is good and your cook is having an off night we will more and likely still come back.
Thank you to Hoffbrau Steakhouse for dinner and we will be seeing you again soon!
