Please welcome, Nora, owner of The Fairy Cupcake.
Please tell us a little about yourself…
“My name is Nora Begona and I am from Buenos Aires Argentina. Since 2009 I have lived in Snow Hill, NC working as a Spanish teacher in 3rd grade.
As many of the women who make crafts, I started creating them since I was a girl. My mom taught me how to sew, embroider, knit and later I learned how to paint.
Though I have worked as a teacher for more than 25 years, crafts and art were always by my side. I do love making and learning new things. In the past years I have designed jewelry and started making cupcakes! Yes, the cupcake syndrome got me. I have made a lot, and the bad thing is that we are two in the family: Bliss my pom and myself. Too bad, I can’t eat them all.”
“In regards to painting I have painted for more than 20 years, publishing books, and magazines with my works. I also used to be the host of a painting show in my country. Now, that I am living in the US, I have opened an Etsy shop, learning how to work on my art.”
What is your inspiration?
“It is difficult to talk about my inspiration, I am a Pisces therefore creative and a day dreamer. I love the shabby chic, the English cottages, Marie Antoinette themes, as you can see very romantic.
Whenever I see something vintage and old I see it with other eyes, how it would look with my roses.” That is just beautiful…
I would like to share with you a couple of my favorite items from her Etsy shop.
