The Steady Hand 2012 Sales Statistics

At the beginning of 2012 I set a goal for myself of 100 sales for the year. In 2011 I made a total of 20 sales (including Etsy and craft fair sales). 100 sales is a big jump but I was committed and I knew I could do it.

Well, I didn’t make it. I came quite close with 89 total sales for the year (including Etsy, Facebook and craft fairs). 42 were made on Etsy alone.

Here are some of my Sales Statistics for 2012:

November was my busiest month with 8 sales on Etsy and 2 very large craft shows. Total Sales for November: 36

October was my busiest month on Etsy as far as folks liking my items. 17 shop favorites and 85 listing favorites.

July brought the most views to my Etsy shop. 749 shop views and 3,005 listing views.

June was the only month that I had NO sales on Etsy.

Overall, 2012 was a great year and I accomplished a lot.

– I opened a new Etsy Shop, Steady Miniatures, to sell my vintage miniatures and dollhouse accessories.

– In November of 2012 I started writing up and selling my own patterns. To date, I have 3 crochet patterns for sale on Etsy, Craftsy and Ravelry.

My Sales Goals for 2013

I will probably write up another post to explain my goals with more detail but for right now here they are:

– 200 Sales

– Write, test and publish another 7 crochet patterns for sale

– attend at least 5 craft shows

    Congrats on coming so very close to your goal! I love that you shared this with your readers. Last year was my first year in business for myself (selling vintage and art on Etsy and Ebay- but with the focus on building my Etsy shop). My goal for Etsy was 100 sales in my first year and indeed, I made exactly 100 sales. LoL. Weird. For this year, instead of # of sales, I’ll be goal setting based on actual sales totals. I haven’t done my books yet, but say hypothetically, I profited $1000 this last year, well, for next year, I’d goal set to double, triple or quadruple that profit. With a year under my belt, I have a baseline to goal set from and THAT, for me, is very exciting. Congrats to us for building our small businesses ONE sale at a time! 🙂
